Dulaney's Doings -

Saturday August 24 found me at the Cloudcroft meeting of a wonderful group of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. This VFW post represents vets and their auxiliary from 'round the mountain. I am always humbled to be with such groups. I can never thank them enough for their sacrifice for our country--whether they were in the group who were drafted, national guard or volunteer, I can't be prouder than to be with them.

I could not help but be reminded of the time during and after the Viet Nam War and trying to help vets get the help they needed. Post-traumatic Stress Syndrome was not then accepted by the powers that be, but those of us pastors and mental health workers knew, and we developed therapy groups for those who came in our sphere of influence.

Thanks vets for your great citizenship and patriotism.
