PARTNERS FOR OTERO COUNTY, ALAMOGORDO AND THE VILLAGES
There are other candidates with whom I want to partner for a great good for our villages, city, and rural parts of the county.
Doug Post is an energetic, spectacular person new to the political scene whom I have gotten to know since we met at the time of filing for office. Doug grew up in Alamogordo and is running for New Mexico State House of Representatives District 51. He has been a businessman. He is now a teacher in the Alamogordo Public School system. He cares for his mother, whom I now call "Mom" since my own mother is deceased. We need him in Santa Fe to insure Otero County gets education, veteran, energy and a host of other needs met. Post it for Post.

New Mexico House District 59 has a great candidate in Ellen Wedum. Ellen is retired professor but not retired from being a willing leader. She has volunteered in several areas of great concern to all our us. She is especially involved with the South Sacramento Water Group and serves as its secretary. She will serve a district which focuses in the Roswell area and slices across Otero County. Ellen is a no nonsense person, and I like to know that we can have people with her qualifications and no nonsense approach representing part of Otero County in Santa Fe. She will introduce and follow through on education, water, energy and a host of other needed bills.

The United States House of Representatives needs Harry Teague of Hobbs NM in Washington, DC. As I have gotten to personally know Harry, I am impressed with his hard work ethic, the way he treats his employees, and his willingness to listen to everyone. He grew up hardscrabble on the New Mexico high plains, like I did in the West Texas oil patch and on Central Texas farms. He has no need to go to Washington to feather his own nest. He will work for us.

Representative Tom Udall is our person for the United States Senate. Tom is not only able to meet face to face with folk, he is the most experienced and caring person in that race. We cannot go wrong electing Tom Udall to the U.S. Senate.

Please don't pay any attention the scare tactic E-mails about Barack Oboma. Go to lots of sources and really, honestly check him out. Most folk I talk with are so tired of the direction our country has been forced into the last several years that they are giving Obama a chance. What I like most about him is his sensitivity to human need and that he is smart in the sense of intelligence and ability to get to the right place. He will surround himself with able, experienced persons to get our nation back on a good course and regain respect in the world.

All politics, someone has said, is local. I want to serve the people of Otero County, regardless of party, color, theology, or status. I do trust and believe that I, Robert Dulaney Barrett, bring a good new voice for good change to the Otero County Commission and believe civil people can sit together and learn to work together (partner) to make a better life for all.
